Vehicular ad-hoc networks (Vanets) are an important component of intelligent transportation systems (ITSs). Vanets have no centralised authority or server.
Moving vehicles are the nodes that form most of the mobile network. They act as senders, receivers and routers to create and transmit information between other nodes and the infrastructure.
Security concerns have been raised over the personal and private data contained in the unique ID of each node in a network. This article assesses the threats.
