As the COVID-19 pandemic accelerates digitization across the healthcare industry, organizations must adopt technical solutions that share data and provide access to care while protecting patients’ sensitive information. The new high-tech healthcare ecosystem is driving organizations to seek expert help for their security needs at a time when hiring and maintaining internal privacy and security staff is difficult.

To gauge cybersecurity challenges at mid-size provider organizations, Pondurance commissioned Xtelligent Healthcare Media to conduct a survey of industry stakeholders. This is the second annual survey conducted by Pondurance and Xtelligent, and it builds on knowledge collected in 2021. Survey responses from hospital, health system, and physician practice leaders illustrate the lingering roadblocks and driving forces shaping a new cybersecurity framework for healthcare providers.
