Behavioral analytics in cybersecurity is the use of software tools to detect patterns of high-risk human behavior or behavior that is out of the norm. BA tools detect these anomalies (e.g., malware that evades firewalls, intrusion-prevention systems, and antivirus software to silently act from users’ devices), compare them to a baseline of normal behavior, and alert IT managers.
