The benchmark test by Gigaom was designed to simulate significant transaction loads for companies that rely heavily on APIs and require high-performance, high-availability from their API gateway.

Now, the benchmark results for Kong Enterprise are in:

• Latency: Kong delivered up to 200 times lower latency compared to Apigee
• Reliability: Kong returned up to 15 times higher throughputs for 100% of requests with an HTTP 200 OK response
• Cost: Kong processed similar maximum throughputs than Apigee Edge Microgateway with HW configurations of 1 node with 2 cores and 5.25GB Ram compared to 1 node with 8 cores and 32GB Ram
