With the rise of digital economy and social media, many people have dozens of accounts. Humans are incapable of remembering strong, unique passwords to protect all of their accounts.

Passwords can be compromised, either stolen or in some cases, simply guessed and used to impersonate another person. Biometrics offers the possibility to recognize a person through something that is inherent to that individual.   

Biometrics – the automated recognition of individuals based on their behavioral and biological characteristics – is becoming increasingly popular in Identity and Access Management.

Humans typically recognize other humans through vision but how do machines recognize humans?
