Validation of the RetinaVue 100 Imager Handheld Fundus Camera for Teleretinal Imaging

Cover

Historically, handheld fundus cameras have not been widely adopted for diabetic retinal exams in primary care settings due to the relatively poor image quality and difficulty to operate.

In this study, a test was conducted to determine if a minimally-experienced operator can use the RetinaVue100 Imager to successfully capture fundus images on a high percentage of patients, and if a high percentage of the images captured can be successfully interpreted by a remote specialist.

Learn more about the study results about the new imaging solution, including:

  • It can be effectively used in non-eye care settings as a detection tool for diseases
  • It proved easy to use by minimally experienced, non-clinical operators
  • An exam could be completed in an average of 4 minutes
  • And more
