Inside: HCI purpose-built to improve virtual workload performance

Latest Intel Technologies Power New Performance Levels on VMware vSAN

Cover

Storage performance has traditionally been a significant limitation for hyperconverged system performance, leading applications to waste system resources while simultaneously being starved for I/O. This is especially true for I/O-hungry virtual workloads. Until now.

In this resource, the Evaluator Group tested a hyperconverged system based on Intel Xeon Scalable processor systems with Intel Optane and 3D NAND Flash storage, running VMware ESXi and vSAN software, on multiple virtual server workloads to determine price and performance benefits.

Tested on virtual server apps, VDI, and transactional database workloads, read on to see the before and after performance and efficiency comparisons in full.
