For the past 12 years, Popp has held a worldwide engineering role, working to innovate and integrate HP storage solutions in the areas of disaster recovery, storage replication, virtualization and storage management. Popp has wide-ranging storage experience, and holds several patents and patent applications in these fields.

Popp works extensively with HP's partners, regional business teams and HP's storage R&D teams to enable best possible interoperability and integration. He is regularly called upon as speaker at IT events and conferences. He has presented technical tracks at Microsoft TechEd, HP Technology Forum, HP's StorageWorks conferences and other leading industry events.
