Carphone Warehouse Creates 'ERP for IT' - A Tideway Case Study

The Carphone Warehouse is Europe's leading independent retailer of mobile phones and services, with over 2,400 stores in 9 countries. Carphone Warehouse had a bold vision, to create an internal 'ERP for IT' -- a single system of record that would provide greater control over the IT estate while reducing costs and boosting efficiency. The comprehensive initiative relied on ITIL principles as well as implementation of a global CMDB. To realize this vision, Carphone Warehouse engaged Tideway to deliver an automated, accurate inventory of their estate that gave them the actionable intelligence needed to drive key IT initiatives like compliance, consolidation, license optimization, standardization and virtualization.

Join Steve Phelan, Enterprise Architect for The Carphone Warehouse and Kelly Wenzel, Chief Marketing Officer for Tideway in this 30 minute webinar. Hear how Tideway Foundation helped Carphone Warehouse accelerate several key data center initiatives, including:

  • Accurately measure the server estate to remove redundant servers
  • Identify server-to-server dependencies and network configurations to better manage change
  • Populate and maintain CMDB data to support ITIL processes
  • Enable migration of multiple virtual servers to ensure continuity for key business services
  • Support priority Computing on Demand initiative to improve utilization efficiency
