ONLINE PUBLISHING DEFINITION (continued): … A moblog (mobile blog ) is a blog that is maintained by using a mobile device such as a PDA (personal digital assistant) or cell phone . Currently, the most common way to update a moblog is by uploading files from a camera phone to an established blog .The widespread adoption of camera and video-enabled phones into the mobile communications market has driven the moblogging trend in the United States. Previously, most moblogging occurred in Japan and Korea where 3G wireless services have been available for years. The term "moblogging" was coined by Adam Greenfield to describe the practice in 2002. According to Joi Ito's History of Moblogs, Steve Mann sent the first moblog post to the web in 1995 from a wearable computer .In the future, video cell phones may allow millions of users to film newsworthy footage and send it to news broadcasters instantly, further altering the balance between traditional media outlets and consumers of information.
