Adobe has built up an impressive arsenal of applications, catering for consumers, enterprises, service providers, content developers and designers.

The company  has moved away from shrink-wrapped software into subscription-based cloud applications.

Shareholders’ fears were allayed as the revenues came in, but with competitors lining up on all sides and security still an issue for its customers, Adobe still has its work cut out.

Adobe Systems is the dark horse of the software suppliers. Its product portfolio stretches way beyond the ubiquitous portable document format (PDF) standard, popularised by its Acrobat software.

Its brands include well-known brands which include Adobe Reader and Acrobat, Flash Player, Dreamweaver, Creative Suite, Flex, PostScript, Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects.

Providing it can stay on top of security, standards and licensing, enterprises would do well to explore its product portfolio.

This special 7-page report from Computer Weekly, updated for 2014, analyses the challenges facing Adobe, its financial performance, the services and products it offers, its place in the IT market and its future strategy.

Packed with graphs and diagrams, the report is essential reading for any organisation working with, or thinking of working with Adobe.
