Data Protection University
These days there are a number of factors at play that are driving big changes in the way we protect data. Backing up and restoring large amounts of data has always been a challenge, and now so more than ever. As a result, many shops are using technologies such as snapshot and replication for faster restores of frequently accessed data to supplement their traditional backup schemes. We are also seeing some convergence between backup and other disciplines such as disaster recovery and archiving to streamline processes and reduce copies of data. Virtualization presents challenges and benefits from a data protection standpoint. And finally, the widespread use of sophisticated mobile devices is another area of concern. This University looks at how data protection is evolving today to address each of these challenges.
