How to make the transition to newer, cloud-style workloads

Cover Image

Today’s IT organizations need to accommodate two fundamentally different types of workloads, as well as applications that combine the two. There are traditional monolithic enterprise applications that could take years to write and would live for decades. Now there are also newer, cloud-style workloads that are disposable, stateless, and modular.

This accommodation involves bringing workloads to hybrid IT in an evolutionary way and managing them there. It requires optimizing for different types of workloads as they change over time, such as when traditional workloads are decommissioned in favor of new architectures.

This white paper discusses this new model in detail and how Red Hat Cloud Infrastructure makes a smooth transition possible. Find out the way in which cloud Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), together with the open hybrid management of that IaaS, can accommodate both workload types.
