DDoS Attacks: Turning Concern Into Preparedness

DDoS Attacks: Turning Concern Into Preparedness

A recent study by IDG Research revealed that 3 in 4 IT security professionals are concerned about DDoS attacks, which saturate a network or website with requests until it shuts down. This concern is understandable considering that 34% had themselves experienced an attack in the past year.

However, the survey also showed that this high level of concern doesn’t necessarily translate into a high level of preparedness. Security experts are acutely aware of the ramifications of an attack, but they report low levels of confidence in their preparations.

This white paper reviews the results of this insightful study on IT professionals’ views regarding DDoS attacks and preventive strategies. In addition, readers will learn about a potential solution: A cloud-based, “always-on” strategy for monitoring, identifying, and mitigating attacks.
