ABSTRACT:

There are many zones in Cisco TelePresence products; so many, in fact, that there is a lot of confusion about the different zones and their uses. The concept of zones originally came from the H.332 RAS protocol; zones are utilized by gatekeepers to resolve phone number to IP address mapping and to manage device bandwidth using Call Admission Control (CAC). The concept of zones in Cisco TelePresence products is confusing to many people; but this white paper should clear up some of the confusion.
