There are many zones in Cisco TelePresence products; so many, in fact, that there is a lot of confusion about the different zones and their uses. The concept of zones originally came from the H.332 RAS protocol; zones are utilized by gatekeepers to resolve phone number to IP address mapping and to manage device bandwidth using Call Admission Control (CAC).
