Enterprises need to cost effectively assess and implement an easily manageable storage approach that will enable growth nondisruptively as well continue exceptional services to existing customers.

Thin provisioning reduced capacity requirements increasing the efficiency of storage space usage while keeping costs relatively low. This case study explores the implementation of IBMs XIV Storage System in Coriell Institutes genome project, using built-in thin provisioning to free up exponential amounts of storage space. The solution provides scalable, high-performance, easy-to-manage storage for genomic data.
