STEC Solid-State Solutions that Optimize TPS, Bandwidth and Latency for SQL Server

Cover

Solid-state storage continues to gain acceptance in enterprise data centers, providing increased performance and lower latency for mission-critical applications. Enterprises have a variety of choices to make when it comes to deploying SSD technology, including SSD form factors and data placement strategies. Whether you are looking to upgrade your primary storage or accelerate applications with a host-side cache, STEC’s s1120 PCIe Accelerator and EnhanceIO SSD Cache Software can dramatically increase TPS and bandwidth as well as reduce latency in either configuration.

Demartek, an organization specializing in lab validation testing of server, network and storage technologies, benchmarked STEC’s s1120 PCIe performance against that of a more traditional Fibre Channel SAN hard disk drive storage solution. In this webinar, STEC's director of technical marketing Bill Katz presents predominant use cases of SSDs, as well as the various SSD deployment approaches. Demartek's founder and president Dennis Martin will share the evaluation configuration details as well as results around the key metrics transactions per second (TPS), bandwidth and latency.
