Just when organizations were getting comfortable building infrastructure to power View desktops, VMware is now integrating View with Horizon Data to consolidate delivery of virtual desktops, cloud-based apps and enterprise data services.
 
Naturally, the thought of building out a new environment is unappealing to most virtualization teams. Horizon View and Horizon Data, however, are complementary workloads. One is compute-heavy (Horizon View), while the other (Horizon Data) is storage heavy. That is an opportunity to consolidate, and run the full suite in a single environment.
