ABSTRACT:
The Apollo Group found itself at a critical juncture in 2011, planning a strategic initiative to create a cloud-based learning management platform. The initiative was to require significant changes to the existing IT infrastructure in order to accommodate a substantial increase in the number and diversity of users, data, and applications.
They set out to evaluate which technologies would be best suited to support the platform, evaluating MongoDB, a NoSQL document-oriented database.
In this resource, the Apollo Group sets out to help other organizations with the type of analysis they applied to MongoDB. Read on to explore the relevant and useful data they were able to produce on the behavior of MongoDB when deployed in the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2).
Also included are areas they identified for additional research on the behavior of MongoDB under stress conditions.
