HealthTrans, the fourth-largest pharmacy benefits provider in the U.S. (by claims volume), delivers member claims processing services to customers of healthcare benefit plans.  The infrastructure supporting HealthTrans’ claims processing environment is complex and diverse in terms of hardware, software and OS heterogeneity.   In addition, the company supports multiple UNIX “flavors”, Windows environments, Apache, custom applications, and a variety of Web and Java application servers.
