The proliferation of user-owned devices in the workplace is creating huge challenges for IT, but trying to lock down and control devices through traditional mobile device management (MDM) solutions is problematic and unsustainable. Instead, organizations are turning to a better approach that shifts the focus from managing devices to managing what matters – apps and data. This approach, called enterprise mobility management (EMM) is playing an increasingly central role in IT.
