ABSTRACT:
With the advent of networking technologies such as 3G and 4G (LET, WiMAX, LTE-A), mobile data traffic has been growing at an unprecedented pace and is increasingly outstripping the network capacity. The introduction of smartphones that offer ubiquitous internet access allied to a host of other internet capable devices, including tablets, game consoles, laptops and navigators, has been driving the data growth.
While network operators are also regularly introducing new data services as a result of the increasing contribution of data to service revenues, data traffic growth continues to outpace revenue growth. The proliferation of mobile broadband devices, along with the unlimited data bundles from operators, has led to network congestions and deteriorating network quality.
