Enterprise Architecture in action at Simplot
sponsored by IBM

Four years ago when Simplot Australia was enjoying consistently solid business performance, it didn't matter so much that behind it was an application infrastructure riddled with problems; it was largely ungoverned, had accumulated heavy customization and complexity over the years without proper documentation, and lacked effective data management and business intelligence (BI).
However, with rapid expansion through acquisition being projected, Simplot sought to make architectural changes that would increase their IT efficiency and agility.
In this presentation, Simplot Australia Architecture & Planning Manager Ciaran Loughlin gives his perspective on the journey Simplot has followed over the last four years in executing its enterprise architecture overhaul, including insight on:
- The major challenges they faced
- Various initiatives including an enterprise resource planning (ERP) replacement
- And the lessons they've learned along the way.
