High performance computing (HPC) environments have embraced scale-out server architectures to be able to deliver better, more accurate results in less time. The pressure is on to research even more, with increased accuracy and in less time. The supporting storage architecture is a key roadblock to this objective.

George Crump is President and Founder of Storage Switzerland. With 25 years of experience designing storage solutions for data centers across the US, he has seen the birth of such technologies as RAID, NAS and SAN. Prior to founding Storage Switzerland he was CTO at one the nation’s largest storage integrators where he was in charge of technology testing, integration and product selection.        

Tom Sherman Director, Product Management for Storage Products, Cray Inc.

Tom’s career spans over 35 years in engineering and product management. At Cray, Tom manages the storage portfolio, including the new Cray Sonexion storage system. Among his positions prior to joining Cray in 2011, he handled product management for StorNext from Quantum Corporation, served as senior technical product manager for Compellent Technologies and guided the entire product roadmap as Director of Product Management for optical storage at Rimage Corporation. Tom holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Penn State.
