ABSTRACT:
As organizations look to replace hand-coding approaches to data integration with the use of automated tools, they’re faced with a variety of technology choices—including alternatives to traditional on-premises ETL software. Cloud-based data integration, data virtualization, real-time integration, Web services and open source integration tools add new capabilities and possibilities, but they can also complicate the process of developing an effective data integration strategy.
This multimedia interactive classroom, featuring Rick Sherman of consultancy Athena IT Solutions, provides IT and data management professionals with an overview of the data integration options that are available now, along with tips on how to decide which ones best fit an organization's needs and budget. Sherman also offers advice on building a business case for buying data integration tools and key steps to take in implementing an integration strategy.
