ABSTRACT:
A churn analysis case study (CACS) performed by Telecom Italia Lab presents a real-world solution for mining a star schema to identify customer churn in the telecommunications industry. The CACS provides some background on the churn problem, and a detailed methodology describing the data processing steps required to predict churn. The CACS is a natural fit for Oracle Data Mining and serves to show the power and simplicity of using ODM to mine a star schema.
This paper, based on the CACS and intended for users of the Oracle Data Miner, highlights the telco churn case study using Oracle Data Miner and explains the case study workflow methodology. Read this now and learn about preparing a database scheme and importing a pre-made Oracle Data Miner workflow.
