ABSTRACT:
Tablets – otherwise known as ‘tablet PCs’ or ‘media tablets’ – represent the most recent evolution of portable connected devices, combining the functionality of a number of dedicated devices with the recent developments it has inherited from its closest relation: the smartphone.
eReaders – along with MP3 players, PGCs (Portable Games Consoles), netbook and laptops – are one of those devices, the functionality of which is being integrated into tablets. eReaders however remain a viable prospect due to unique technology – electronic ink – which makes reading on the device a superior experience to that of LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) technology (used in tablets).
