NextGen How the FAA Uses FuseSource

Cover

To avoid gridlock in the sky, as well as at U.S. airports, the FAA's NextGen program will transform the National Airspace System (NAS) from its current ground-based air traffic control to a satellite-based system. The FAA's System Wide Information Management (SWIM) program provides the IT infrastructure necessary to streamline data exchange and govern information between NAS users both internal to the FAA as well as industry and airline partners.

Read this paper to find out why the SWIM program selected four open source service-oriented architecture (SOA) components to combine with its other development and management tools to create an enterprise infrastructure that will be deployed between 2010 and 2015 to support NextGen programs.
