Data deduplication is one of the hottest and must-have technologies in the storage world today. For companies that haven't yet implemented dedupe into their backup systems, the interest is growing. According to Fall 2011 Storage Magazine Purchasing Intentions survey, dedupe is in use at 25% of companies, and another 29% will implement dedupe this year. 38% said they would spend more on dedupe, while 33% predicted they would maintain their current spending levels.
