IBM Deployment Planning and Automation for cloud

Cover Image

Successful IT deployments are full of challenges. Application component requirements often do not match IT infrastructure deployment requirements. Without a central library of standard templates, every deployment has to start from scratch, and the outcome is based on the quality and experience of the engineer.

IBM Deployment Planning and Automation for cloud accelerator enables software architects and deployment engineers to use IBM Rational Software Architect Extension for Deployment Automation Planning to create detailed deployment topology models, and IBM Rational Asset Manager to store them as patterns. Such models are used to generate IBM Tivoli Service Automation Manager Service Definitions with Tivoli Provisioning Manager workflows to provision physical or virtual servers and install middleware to host the applications.

The models are also used to generate IBM Rational Automation Framework for WebSphere projects for application deployment and configuration. The resulting end-to-end automation provides a seamless integration between IT infrastructure automation and application deployment steps.
