ABSTRACT:
The economic slowdown has not abated the growth of storage capacity. Although the portion of the overall IT budget allocated to storage is growing for many organisations, the amount of increased budget is most likely not enough to fully accommodate the increased quantity of data with existing levels of efficiency. Organisations will need to keep a close eye on containing the storage footprint through measures like compression while accommodating data growth of all kinds.
In October 2010, IBM commissioned Forrester Consulting to examine the total economic impact and potential return on investment enterprises may realise by deploying IBM’s Real-time Compression solution. Read this case study to learn the results.
