ABSTRACT:
Despite the wealth of Business Intelligence solutions and skills in the market, too frequently BI projects continue to fail. These projects either take too long to build, or once built, do not meet business users’ needs. As a result, end users still rely on IT to provide information that supports business decisions. For business users, discovering new insights and growth opportunities is critical. However, this not only requires a rich body of information, but also a set of intuitive and interactive tools for information exploration. This article will first examine the top three reasons why traditional BI projects often fail to deliver on their promise, and then will outline four simple steps that can expedite these projects faster, better and with more measurable results.
