In this report, businesses were interviewed and then analyzed to understand the factors that influenced their decision to mobilize their field force using standard BlackBerry smartphones instead of ruggedized mobile devices. The quantitative results show that BlackBerry smartphones deployed as a field force solution provided a five year average TCO savings of 30% over dedicated ruggedized devices.
