Inconsistent, poor quality data can spell disaster for SOA or BPM initiatives. Yet delivering the right information in the right form is widely perceived as being very difficult. Enterprise-wide data initiatives cross many boundaries, both technical and departmental, and are often high risk. What’s required is responsive business integration that provides data and information services in support of SOA and BPM to ensure precise semantic mediation with enhanced governance across the entire integration life-cycle. This paper describes how a governance led approach can progressively deliver enterprise level semantic integration with minimum short term cost, less complexity and reduced maintenance.
