ABSTRACT:
There are many shades of green when it comes to sustainability. What does sustainability mean for business and particularly for IT? Sustainable IT refers to efforts that increase the useful life and reduce environmental impacts of IT systems, and concurrently offer cost benefits to the business. Perhaps the business case for sustainable IT could be stated as balancing the scales of rampant data storage costs and growth with eco-innovative solutions. This paper focuses on how to improve on data center efficiencies and deploy greater sustainability across the IT infrastructure.
