IBM’s Storwize V7000 users now have the tools — with the combination of Storage Tier Advisor and Easy Tier — to be able to plan for and use SSDs appropriately in their distinctive workload environments. The Storage Tier Advisor software tool offers guidance to users on how existing workloads can benefit by moving certain data to SSDs. Easy Tier, free firmware functionality in a Storwize V7000 system, is the operational tool that manages the proper placement of data between SSDs and HDDs on a continuous basis.
