AAA Washington was conducting a full backup of about three terabytes daily, but the process was too lengthy, labor intensive and uncertain. Close to 20 of their 50 servers were backing up independently, requiring staff to load and unload tapes, check job progress and create separate log sheets. With too many headaches and too much lost time, the IT department decided it was time to look for a new solution. This case study examines AAA’s transition to Quantum DXi technology – both why they chose Quantum and how it was able to significantly improve their backup process.
