ABSTRACT:
There has been a lot of buzz lately around automated tiering. What’s it all about? One of the things that is driving this is that there are more storage tiers than there have ever been. There is solid-state disk, fiber/SAS, SATA, and now cloud storage. Most are trying to figure out how to take advantage these multiple layers of storage tiers. And the ability to manage and monitor all of that is becoming challenging.
This presentation transcript explains a little background on Storage Switzerland and then gets into some of the details of automated tiering - like where and how you might want to do that. It also provides details about file virtualization.
