A Q&A on Batch Tuning - Reduce CPU and Run-Time by Expanding the Practice to the Enterprise
sponsored by Software Engineering of America, Inc.

The practice of Batch tuning has been around for many years but many organizations still face common problems such as batch contention, batch window constraints, over allocated resources and not exploiting existing technology investments, among others.

The traditional methods of dealing with batch performance issues are not often adequate in today’s environment. Tools are complicated to use and home-grown solutions are difficult to maintain. IT Management is continuously investing in different forms of batch environment assessments and performance health checks, but, over time, problems reoccur primarily because of the lack of well defined best practices in the organization, including processes for better JCL coding practices and standards enforcement when deploying new applications.

Sal Del Conte, SEA's Director of Services and Support, and an industry recognized expert in batch management and optimization, will answer a series of questions related to common problems faced by organizations around batch tuning and how organizations can implement better practices with measurable results.
