ABSTRACT:
As more organization transition to a Services Oriented Architecture, seamless data integration becomes a fundamental building block for enterprise applications. Standardizing data management practices when developing the enterprise architecture lowers risk and increases consistency; Organizational trust in the data simplifies application development while increasing data reliability.
This paper explores how a set of value-added data services can reduce operational costs, increase efficiency and improve the quality of enterprise data. A single data services layer will reduce the complexity of the data management framework; standardizing the way data tools are used as well as the ways that rules are applied will ensure predictable information reliability and value.
