ABSTRACT:
Solera Networks commissioned Trusted Strategies, a research and advisory firm focused exclusively on information security, to conduct a survey regarding incident response and network forensics. This document presents an executive summary of the survey findings.
The goal of the survey was to determine how IT and network security management and staff within large organizations view the importance of being prepared to respond to network security incidents when they do occur. In particular, we wanted to measure the current views and level of understanding of network forensics, or the process of capturing, recording, and analysis of network events in order to discover the source of security attacks or other problem incidents. Survey participants were asked the likelihood of their organizations experiencing a significant network security breach, and how prepared they were to respond to such an incident. Get the survey report and see how your thoughts compare.
