SWP is a new software product from Symantec's Endpoint Virtualization group. SWP separates (virtualizes) the user's profile (user data, settings and personality) from the underlying operating system allowing users to easily roam from device to device, work on two sessions simultaneously, or access their profile in the context of VDI and terminal services. SWP compliments Symantec Endpoint Virtualization Suite's award winning application streaming, virtualization and brokering products and delivers on the promise of device and platform independence.

SWP gives you the benefits of Roaming/Mandatory profiles at the speed of local profiles. In addition to speed, SWP's advantages are:

  • No specific profile configuration or maintenance is required – SWP uses the existing Windows profile definition
  • Consistent logon times regardless of the profile size or complexity
  • Just-In-Time file retrieval
  • Dynamic updating of files to the profile store. Click save and the changes are sent to the profile store
  • Minimal network bandwidth consumption common to profile solutions that copy the entire profile to the endpoint
