ABSTRACT:
The Massachusetts Privacy Law (MA 201 CMR 17), designed to protect the personal identifiable information (PII) of the state's residents. It will mandate strong controls, including a requirement that organizations send out notifications when breaches occur that include the PII of Massachusetts' residents. The law also requires use of specific technical safeguards that ensure organizations take preventative measures and employ IT "best practices" for the protection of PII. But the law generates controversy for a number of reasons, including its potential reach beyond state borders and compliance position in relation to existing federal laws.
Sean Sherman, Senior Compliance Architect and Policy Program Manager and Brian Cusack, Senior Systems Engineer at Tripwire, provide some insight and practical advice to help you prepare for the law taking effect January 10, 2010 and show you how Tripwire Enterprise can help.
In this webcast you'll get:
An overview of the Massachusetts Privacy Law
A discussion of the major areas of the law's controversial and confusing language
The law's impact and advice on how you can prepare for the law's impact
Details of Tripwire Enterprise's MA 201 policies and how we can simplify achieving and proving compliance with the law
Register for this webcast, and then tune in to learn how to get started preparing for this Massachusetts law that may well be indicative of a legislative trend in other states.
