ABSTRACT:
These days, companies are forced to deal with an ever-increasing amount of unstructured, file-based data that's demanding more storage capacity. Because network attached storage (NAS) is file-based (rather than block-based) storage, it is particularly suited for storing this type of data. Also, NAS can be used on its own or in conjunction with a SAN, which is attractive to many organizations. Tony Asaro, senior analyst with Enterprise Strategy Group, offers answers to the most common NAS questions he hears in the field.
