ABSTRACT:
There is no such thing as a data or information processing recession resulting in continued strong demand for IT resources including server performance. However organizations of all size are tasked with doing more in the same or smaller footprint (e.g. doing more with less) without compromising on quality of service (QoS), performance, availability or increasing complexity. Given the islands of technology present in most organizations, some of which are under–utilized others that are aging or based on costly propriety technologies, there are many opportunities for shifting to an efficient and optimized infrastructure to support IT and business sustainability.
This presentation transcript looks at the issues and what can be done today to consolidate under–utilized IT resources, increase flexibility and agility, while boosting performance to increase productivity resulting in competitive advantages not to mention energy and cost savings.
