ABSTRACT:
This IDC Insight provides an overview of the culture change considerations that end users should consider before adapting a UC solution.
Some of the key challenges for customers looking to adopt unified communications are the identification of which tools and features are most appropriate for their organization and, more importantly, which source they should turn to provide those selected features and tools.
The three primary sources for UC functionality are:
- Integrated collaborative environments (ICE) (i.e., Microsoft Exchange or Lotus Notes)
- Service providers (sometimes referred to as "the cloud") - also includes "over-the- top services" provided by Google
- PBX equipment
