ABSTRACT:
In this issue of SearchSoftwareQuality.com's Software Testing eZine, we'll discuss a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) as a new testing environment as well as an Agile software development (ASD) methodology.
In chapter 1, consultant Mike Kelly focuses on the subtle differences between
testing in an SOA environment from other environments. Testers start with similar basic methods (like connectivity, basic capacity, and authorization and authentication) in an SOA environment like they would with other environments, but the level of complexity in data models is very different from other architectures and requires some new methods.
In chapter 2, consultant Karen N. Johnson will talk about the more collaborative process of Agile, and calls for seizing iterations as a chance to evolve test ideas. She'll show how fundamental testing tasks remain the same, but the productivity of completing them can increase.
