ABSTRACT:
To fully exploit the opportunities offered by the multi-polar world, multinationals and public sector organizations must successfully create a global delivery strategy, and tap into specialized industry, business process and technology skills in the right location and cost bracket.
Managing this global workforce will require organizations to evolve traditional talent models and management approaches, and adopt innovative ideas. Cross-cultural understanding and training will become fundamental. To be successful, organizations will also need insight into the differences in skills between countries. While many countries have deep graduate pools, not all have large-scale experienced talent pools in certain areas. Likewise, the aspirations of recruits will vary according to where they come from. Finally, cost differences between countries will converge, but at different rates. As a result, organizations will need to decide where future leadership should be developed.
