sponsored by Hewlett-Packard Company

This paper discusses how the Missouri court system sought to improve the availability and accessibility of Missouri State Courts' information via the Case.net web site, while improving data management efficiency; reduce costs; and strengthen disaster and business continuity readiness.

They successfully consolidated database servers from 40 Missouri circuit courts onto five HP ProLiant servers, protected by mirrored primary and backup sites equipped with HP StorageWorks storage area networks.

This produced the following business outcomes:

  • Fulfills mission to deliver equal access to court information
  • Improves public availability for critical Case.net web site
  • Yields savings of $200,000 in server costs over four years
  • Decreases tape consumption by 140 tapes/month
  • Frees staff to focus on higher-value projects
  • Reduces travel costs
