ABSTRACT:
For today's increasingly overburdened IT departments, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions provide a compelling alternative to traditional software deployments. However, SaaS solutions do not make sense for every business in every situation. In order to make the case for or against a SaaS solution, IT departments need to have a complete and accurate understanding of the time, effort, and costs involved with both SaaS offerings and the in-house alternatives. This paper reviews both the benefits and potential drawbacks of SaaS, taking an in-depth look at how they apply to email archiving.
